Features

It adsorbs to and inactivates viral membrane proteins, thereby preventing the virus from entering host cells.

Antiviral Performance
The antiviral activity of SR-V-2200 aqueous dispersions at 0.1–3 mg/mL against influenza virus was measured in accordance with ISO 18184, the antiviral test method for textile products. The antiviral activity value is the difference between the logarithm of the infectivity value for the phosphate-buffered control and that for the antiviral sample. A higher value indicates greater antiviral performance.

Antibacterial Performance

The minimum concentration of an antibacterial agent required to prevent bacterial division and proliferation is known as the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC), expressed in μg/mL. A lower MIC indicates stronger antibacterial activity. The table below shows the MIC values of SR-V-2200 against various microorganisms, determined using the agar dilution method.

Processing Examples
◆ Dip-Treatment Example on Cotton Fabric
Cotton fabric was dip-treated with SR-V-2200 at an add-on of 1 g/m², and its antiviral activity against influenza virus was measured in accordance with ISO 18184, the antiviral test method for textile products. The results showed that SR-V-2200 achieved a higher antiviral activity value than a silver-based inorganic antibacterial agent. An antiviral activity value of 2 (99%) is classified as a “small effect,” while a value of 3 (99.9%) is classified as a “full effect.”

◆ Coating Example on Film
SR-V-2200 was coated onto polyester film at an add-on of 1 g/m². In accordance with ISO 18184, the antiviral test method for textile products, 0.4 mL of viral suspension was applied and the cover-film method was used to measure antiviral activity against influenza virus. The results showed that SR-V-2200 provided a high antiviral activity value.
