CLEAR BELL Antifouling Agent
CLEAR BELL is an antifouling additive that is blended into resin and reacts to generate substances such as silicone oil with a dimethyl cyclic siloxane structure, thereby modifying the surface properties of molded products. CLEAR BELL forms a stable protective layer with special protective functions on the product surface, improving resistance to fouling.
Function
The antifouling agent makes dirt and water stains less likely to adhere to or spread across the productsurface, helping keep it clean.
Safety
Complies with the dissolution-test standards of Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and is included on the positive list.
Durability
The effect remains even when the product surface is placed in warm water or rinsed with flowing water.
Reliability
CLEAR BELL is available in different grades formed by blending it with various general-purpose resins.
Grades
Environmental discoloration tests confirm high reliability in use.
| Grade | Method | Carrier Resin |
|---|---|---|
| CLEAR BELL CB-1 | PP Pellets Containing 10% Silicone MFR(230℃ × 2.16kg):25.5 | Olefin Resins |
| CLEAR BELL CB-1T3B | PP Pellets Containing 3.5% Silicone with an Anti-Dust Function MFR(230℃ × 2.16kg):44.8 | Olefin Resins |
| CLEAR BELL CB-50PP | PP Pellets Containing 50% Silicone MFR(230℃ × 2.16kg):33.6 | Olefin Resins |
| CLEAR BELL CB-30PE | PE Pellets Containing 30% Silicone MFR(190℃ × 2.16kg):52.4 | Olefin Resins |
| CLEAR BELL CB-50AB | ABS Pellets Containing 50% Silicone MFR(200℃ × 5.00kg):12.9 | Styrenic Resins |
Adding 2.0–5.0% antifouling agent improves surface water repellency, slipperiness, and wear resistance.
Effect on Physical Properties
Blending CLEAR BELL into general-purpose resins has almost no effect on strength and can improve impact strength.

Test Method
CLEAR BELL was blended into PP pellets at 0%, 1%, and 5%; test pieces were injection-molded and their physical properties measured.
Performance Evaluation
The performance of samples containing CLEAR BELL was confirmed using the test methods below.
Evaluation Methods and Results
Evaluation Method (1): Confirm antifouling performance against drops of artificial soil under conditions close to actual use.
Evaluation Result (1): Compared with the sample without CLEAR BELL, the sample containing CLEAR BELL showed a smaller spread area of soil.
Evaluation Method (2): Confirm antifouling performance against Artificial Soil B (dirty water).
Evaluation Result (2): Compared with the sample without CLEAR BELL, the sample containing CLEAR BELL showed a smaller spread area of soil.
Evaluation Method (3): Confirm adhesion of artificial dust under conditions close to actual use.
Evaluation Result (3): Compared with the sample without CLEAR BELL, the sample containing CLEAR BELL showed less artificial-dust adhesion.
Evaluation Method (4): Confirm the discoloration resistance of samples containing CLEAR BELL.
Evaluation Result (4): Under identical conditions, there was no difference in discoloration between samples containing CLEAR BELL and samples without it.
Evaluation Results
1. Antifouling Test with Artificial Soil (PP Resin)
[Test Method]
Confirm the extent of spreading after artificial soil is dropped onto each sample.
(Standing Time) 3 Days at Room Temperature
(Drop Volume) Approx. 0.3 mL
(Dropping Method) Use a pipette to drop the liquid onto the sample from a height of 3 cm.
